Claire Elise Bocher,/bu:'SeI/boo-SHAY born on March 17, 1988. She's known as Grimes. [2][3] The range of her early music was described as "lo the fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". The artist has incorporated elements from hip hop, electronic and rock. Her lyrics often focus on sci-fi themes as well as feminist issues. The singer has released five studio albums. She was raised and born in Vancouver (later relocated into Montreal), Grimes began releasing music independently from the mid-2000s onwards and released two albums, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa from 2010 with Arbutus Records. She subsequently signed with 4AD and became a household name after the release of her third album Visions that was released in 2012. Visions includes the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" and won the Canadian industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year. The album that she released as her fourth studio effort Art Angels was released in 2015. The album was praised by critics and a variety of magazines voted it to be the top album. In 2020, she dropped Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes is also a judge for Alter Ego, a music contest. She participated in the role-playing game of the Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
