Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter as well as mixed martial artist competing at flyweight in the UFC. She is the older sister of the fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports began as a Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and then defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina followed it up and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 and a gold award in the year 2011 and the title of 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia started her professional journey back in 2003. She has taken home numerous awards, such as the World WKC K-1 Light Welterweight Champion, Lion Fight Lightweight Championships, and WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was against Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by an unanimous decision. Antonina Shevchenko broke her professional MMA record in 2002 during KFK's Cup in Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She took the win via a second round TKO, and then won two more bouts at the WXF X-Impact World Championships to earn a 3-0 record. Shevchenko dedicated herself to kickboxing after which she took a lengthy time off in MMA. She came back in 2017, when she fought Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa through a unanimous decision, before prevailing over Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. The league was dissolved in 2018, Shevchenko was a part of Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina knocked out Nievera using her impressive striking ability at the end of the fight by using knees on the body. Following this victory, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut UFC at The TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight after winning the first fight via an unanimous decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. The result earned her the bonus of a fight-of-the night. Shevchenko went 2-2 in her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski but lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
