Colson Baker (or Machine Gun Kelly) is famous for his distinct style of rapping. Baker was born April 22 1991 in Houston Texas U.S. into an extended family of English Scottish and German descent. His parents are missionaries. In his early years Baker traveled a lot together. James Colson Baker battled depression and unemployment, and his mother Sonia Alane dumped him at age nine. Baker relocated to Denver with his father and lived there for a time. Baker's poverty was the reason for bullying by kids in the area. His first exposure to hip-hop was as he began sixth the sixth grade. Colson Baker, also known by the name Machine Gun Kelly, was born in Texas on April 22nd, 1990. He is best known for his rock-infused hip hop and his modern alternative. Prior to joining Bad Boy Records Baker released four mixtapes between 2007 and the year 2010. In the wake of delivering his lyrics faster than bullet trains, this Cleveland artist saw an explosive increase in fame and recognition in the year 2011. The rapper went from releasing self-released cassettes, to being signed to labels. The career of this Cleveland rapper rocketed when the release of his first mixtape late in 2011.
